Can overlapping appointments increase revenue?
While difficult to do with paper appointment books, many electronic appointment books can be set to allow double, triple and more bookings of the same time. If one takes a look at the daily routine of a beauty operator and others offering services, non productive time can be identified. In many cases this time can be turned into productive time increasing revenues.
I was recently in a large chain store to have some film quickly developed which took about 1 hour. After giving the film to the person, they proceed to start the process and then sat waiting for the film to be finished with this stage, about 25 minutes. During this time period several other customers expressed dissatisfaction at the slowness of the check out line, this person said they were short handed. Our team recently worked with a large salon. We observed that after the foil was applied the client was left to "develop", like the film above resulting in non productive time. In both cases other clients could have been helped by overlapping the time available, increasing productivity.
ClientMagic has the ability to book a time slot with an unlimited number of clients and still allow the operator to view the reason for the appointment and comments that apply. With a little forethought this practice will increase revenues for all.
In the example left, 3 clients have been booked for part of the same time. The blue color indicates a foil tint, so while "developing" another comb out could be done.
