Microsoft's Vista and Windows 7 Operating System Integration
We are proud to announce integration with Vista and Windows 7. With Microsoft's release of SQL 2005 and the incorporation of this database engine in ClientMagic we are now 100% compatible with Vista. Installation on some computers continues to challenge our technical support with most issues relating to multiple firewalls.

Our latest release of ClientMagic contains the new Microsoft SQL 2005 database. This is a much more robust version of the previous SQL 2000 database. SQL means Structured Query Language, in case you wanted to know. It enables our reports to instantly give you information on your stored records and perform advanced queries on virtually anything in the database. SQL 2005 is backwards compatible with previous windows versions XP and 2000 that have the current service packs. Unfortunately SQL 2000 will not run on Vista. This shuts out many software applications that ran on this platform.

Why change a good thing? Microsoft's XP operating system was as solid as a rock but issues did exist where security could be breached and viruses and other critters could be let in including programs that send information to the creator about you. Although rare in occurrence these programs do exist. To prevent this we loaded Firewalls and installed "Internet Security" software which slowed our computer to a crawl sometimes. Microsoft has fixed these security breaches with Vista, and added many speed up features and rapid picture and file processing. We are sold on Vista, and now it's Successor Windows 7.

Soon ClientMagic will control your internet access with permissions granted through our security. If our software is not running internet access will be denied, and access can be granted by user only to a pre-set list of permitted addresses. This should go a long way  towards eliminate internet abuse in the workplace and the risks inherent with it.
